The best thing about PING irons is the ease with which they can be used. So when they claim that the G710 has the longest life and is the most flexible, it’s a big deal. Thanks to the high density of tungsten in the heel, and toe, the MOI in G710 irons is 5% greater than G700 irons (review HERE).

My testing revealed exactly what the G710 Irons were capable of: long shots landing within a tight circle. These irons have plenty of ball speed, launch easily, and carry adequate spin to hold a green. G710 irons offer a better alternative to the dreaded distance irons. While I did not lose my landing angle, I bought a club to distance.

I was impressed by the 4-iron more than any other clubs in the set. Because I’m a low-launching player, it is difficult to achieve enough consistency and distance with long irons. With the G710 4I, the ball got up into a playable window, carried a long way, and landed as softly as I can reasonably expect.

PING will offer the G710 with a boatload more shaft options than usual. PING Alta Distanza’s new shaft is lightest yet (43 grams), and has the highest launch iron. In addition to two other proprietary PING shafts, there are options from Nippon, KBS, True Temper, UST, and Project X.

Every set of irons from PING G710 comes with Arccos Caddie Smart Grip. Each shot can be tracked by the sensor, which is embedded in the grips of irons. PING also provides each customer with one free year of Arccos Caddie. In addition, when you order 6 or more irons, eight Arccos sensors will be included by PING so that data can be gathered from all clubs in your bag.

Ping’s G710 irons are now standard with a 5% MOI higher than G700’s. It features a machined face and grooves made of plasma-welded maraging and steel faces, as well as tungsten and hosel weights.
