It’s all about the looks

PING’s Tour iron – the S56, i. Blade etc – and their i Series iron were clearly different in previous models. This gap is almost nonexistent with the i210. The i210 and i. Blade were next to me, so I was able pick out some subtle differences. But, on their own, it’s easy to confuse them.

PING i210 is compact in length and features a narrow top line. It also has a modest offset. All these traits will have give it great appeal to the good and aspiring player.

As I discussed in my review of the PING i500 irons , the i210 and i500 look very similar at address and can be easily paired in a combo set. Below, the i500 can be seen on the left side and the i210 right side.

First Ping!

It is my first ever set of Pings that I own or have played. Ping was always a clunky and large-headed looking head that I thought. This is not the case! These cast irons are among the finest I have seen. This cast iron has a very soft feel, which would make you think it is forged. I have played Mizunos for many years and since they went to Boron in the heads, the feel just isn’t the same. Callway Apex was on my mind, Taylormade 790, Taylormade Rogue Pro, Taylormade Taylormade, Srixons and Mizunos. I had to try them all. They aren’t the most long-lasting irons available. They’re not meant to be. But, distance is spot on, every shot. Very easy to work the ball. Best irons I have ever played. IF you are looking for consistency, these are the best out there.

Here’s what you need to know about the I210

30 percent more elastomer in the i200s supports the face at impact. The real winner is how 50% less elastic the elastomer. This increases feedback and feel.

Ping has created flawless head profiles. Long irons are more flexible and scoring clubs have a muscleback appearance.

CNC milled cavity It’s not just the face and grooves that are CNC milled on the i210 – the cavity is, too. The face thickness can therefore be very precisely controlled for reliable and consistent shot making.

Everything you need to know about iron shaft weight. Why it is more important now than flex.

The search for high performance has left no stone unturned. To generate greater friction between the ball and clubface, the face grooves have a tighter spacing and a more sharp top radius. You get 15-30% more groove on your ball.

Expert Review: Ping I210 And Ping I500 Irons

Ping introduced the Ping Ping 200 and Ping 500 irons, their most recent additions in the Ping golf family. In our below review, we will dive deep into the unique design and performance of each club.

Club Tested A larger insert with custom tuning ports is featured. The insert is 30% wider and 50% softer. Ping claims that this result results in 25% more face contact. It also provides smoother impact feel. With a compact design and minimal offset, the sole and leading edge are now more efficient and provide better turf interaction. Precision-milled i210 grooves ensure machine-like accuracy and consistent performance. The pitching wedge replicates the Glide 2.0 grooves while the U-wedge and pitching wedge emulate those grooves. A sharper edge radius and tighter spacing of grooves help to prevent fliers from the scoring irons.

The i210 irons are gamers and designed for better players, but I believe players trending towards a single digit handicap will find these a very nice offering, too. +14 handicaps.

Wow! I love the Ping i210s irons. As soon as I saw them at address, I was filled with confidence. Hydro-Pearl 2.0 looks smooth and durable. Hydro-Pearl finishes have a white top line which helps align the head at address.

This classic, long and mid-thickness toe line gives it a more boxy feel. Even though the sole is not quite as wide as a real blade’s, it is still defined and smooth. It also creates visual contact with the turf via impact.

It is very easy to feel the feedback. My shots were extremely smooth and precise. Elastomer inserts improve feel. They also eliminate vibrations and clicky sounds cavity backs might make. I had no problem producing a repeatable slight draw that launched effortlessly. With little effort, I managed to get a down-ball flight with just a few clicks of the follow-through.

They are extremely smooth.0, and well worth your consideration if looking to upgrade or replace an existing set. While you may not get incredible distances from these irons, nor maximum forgiveness with the midsized I210 clubhead, you’ll find consistency in performance, distance and feel that is second to none. I could be faced with a difficult decision when my irons come off the market.

Ping I210 Irons Looks

The difference between the PING’s Tour iron and the S56 was quite clear in the older models. With the i210 now it is not existing.

You can spot some subtle differences by keeping the i210 near to your i. Blade. However, on their own they might be easily mistaken for each other.

The Ping i210 has a thin top line, compact blade length, and modest offset. All these traits give great appeal to good and aspiring players.

They look very similar in the i210/i500 looks and can easily be paired together to make a combination set.
