Ping Hoofer 14 – Golf Bag Review Having been a former NCAA Division 1 Golf Team Captain and touring professional for a season on the PGA Eurorpro Tour back in 2010, it’s amazing how fast the golfing world can pass one bye. The article is not just about golf clubs and balls but clothing as well, including golf bags.

After six years of focusing on my business and then this magazine for the last six years, it’s finally time I got back to the links. The best place to start is with a new bag. Since I had used Ping Hoofer bags for most of my golfing careers, this was an easy choice.

I am going to be discussing the latest version of the Ping Hoofer.

Why is it called “14”? The 14-slot version has one slot for each club. Ping also makes a standard 5-slot version. This is the one I use most often. I never really liked how the clubs got crossed over in my old bags, so thought I would give this one a try.

It is unbelievable it has this much flaw, despite all the great reviews I had read about Ping Hoofers. The process of getting clubs in and out is difficult. They don’t always sit well unless I force them. It is also hard to transport the bags with the cart. I have no idea what I will do, as this bag is both functional, light and very stylish. I hate it.

Does anyone know if Golf Galaxy would return this bag after it is used? I have the receipt and all that jazz. It will be a week before I make my decision. It’s unbelievable that this is so bad after reading the rave reviews for Ping Hoofers before I bought it. Even though it was easy to move the clubs around, getting them into the bag and onto the trolley can prove difficult. I have no idea what to do, as this bag is very functional, lightweight and stylish. Ugh.

Is there any way to find out if Golf Galaxy will take the bag back once it has been used. All that stuff is in the receipt. I am going to wait a few more weeks before making a final decision. A Titleist 14-way bag is owned by my girlfriend. It’s much better than the Nike Air Hybrid II. I have never understood why so many people fall in love with these bags. The tilting floor mechanism perfectly combines the grip ends of both clubs to make them unwieldy.

They are spacious with lots of pockets, and the straps are super comfortable. It doesn’t matter if the bag has to be held up straight and you must untangle each club every single time you replace or pull one out. That’s nuts.

Titleist now uses the same process across their whole range of stand bags. It is too late.

Golf will not be available to me starting August 18, 2021. WRX for a while.

I can’t believe it’s this bad, after all the glowing reviews about Ping Hoofers I read before making my purchase. Getting clubs in and out can be a huge pain in the arse, sometimes they don’t sit right unless I shove and shove, and getting them in when the bag is strapped to a cart is even worse. The bag has everything that I need in a bag, but I am not sure what I should do. It is lightweight, practical, stylish, and functional. Oh my God.

Anyone know if Golf Galaxy would take this bag back after it’s been used? I have the receipt and all that jazz. The receipt is mine. I will give it another week and then make a decision. The tilting-floor mechanism is absolutely perfectly designed to scramble the grip ends of the clubs together.

These bag are large with many pockets and super soft straps. If you’re required to hold the bag on its end, untangle and assemble clubs every single time you pick up a new club or replace one, all that is irrelevant. It’s just nuts.

Titleist has adopted the same system across all of their stand bag products. You give up.

I’m dumbfounded how this bag consistently tops the “best of” bag lists and pretty much everyone seems to love it. I can assure you that no one would love it more than myself. The color is just what I wanted. The style is great, and it’s the perfect successor to my volt Nike Air Hybrid II bag. Unfortunately, I’m considering dumping the bag because of its club tangle.

My patience is lacking for un-jigsawing my clubs prior and after every shot. However, it’s not something I know how to fix.

Other than that, they’re roomy with plenty of pockets and have super comfy straps. All that doesn’t make a difference if you need to stand it up and untangle every club you take out. That is nuts.

This bag has been consistently on the top of my “best of” list and I am amazed at how much people love it. It is my favorite bag. This bag is the exact color that I wanted. The design is excellent and the bag will be a good replacement to my Nike Air Hybrid II. Unfortunately, I’m considering dumping the bag because of its club tangle.

Share on other sites Posted There’s so many negative reviews of the Ping stand bag for the club tangle that I cannot believe they haven’t scrapped the Hoofer mechanism and increased the top opening diameter to alleviate the problem. I ordered a new SM 4.5 x 14 bag. But, am questioning whether or not the Under Armour bag is more durable. I had great success with my older SM bag.
