Big Change

It’s still getting to know the driver. I do think it’s more forgiving on off center contact. It’s muted sounding more than the previous driver so there is less feedback during impact. The matt finish is my favorite. I believe I’ll gain confidence once I get to know the club.

Yes.

It is a product I strongly recommend.

Delivers As Promised

The following is a review. Ping G400 driver. I said I wouldn’t buy another driver unless and until there was a club that had a higher m.o.i. Ping G425 Maxi. Ping is a respected company with a reputation for making equipment that’s easy to use. My club course was played with the new driver. This was my first experience using the driver. They delivered on their promises. It kept me in the fairway all day. It was difficult to miss strikes with the G400 that made me feel like I might be missing something. In this instance, however, they found the fairway. It was my first time at the range so I tried it. Although it seemed to prevent a push turning into a slice, it didn’t cook my draws. The club just felt like it wanted stay in the slot on the downswing more easily and thus narrow the dispersion.

Yes.

This product has my recommendation.

Performance

Let’s jump right into the important question. Was PING capable of maintaining the G410 Plus’s adjustability, but also increasing the forgiveness. It is. It delivers.

In testing the G425 Max head to head with my G410 Plus, the most obvious difference was the superior forgiveness of the G425 Max. G425 Max’s mishits were consistently less frequent due to a stronger launch and higher spin numbers. It means that you have less time between your best swings as well as all other shots. If you compare the G425 Max and the rest on the market, there aren’t many that offer as much forgiveness. You want the most consistency from the driver of the G425Max.

What’s impressive is that the G425 Max achieves this boosted forgiveness without giving up adjustability. This driver uses the same adapter as the previous one, so you can use all the same shafts in the same eight positions. Loft can be adjusted by as little as 1.5°. There are three options for the 26 gram weight at the back: Draw, Neutral and Fade. Each position will have an effect on both the ball flight as well as the location of the sweet spots.

PING, a world leader in custom-fitting offers many stock shafts with the G425 Max driver. The three models that PING Tour offers are the Alta Distanza and ALTA CB 55 slate. PING provides hot aftermarket shafts for the driver of players, including the Aldila Rogue White 120 MSI [reviewHERE] and Mitsubishi TenSEI-AV Orange (55 and 65 gram).

Performance

The name-brand PING G425LST driver is a success. Between the G425 LST and Max, I noticed a difference of around 200 RPM. You may experience a different mileage, so be sure to get fit before purchasing.

PING LST drivers have impressed me with their ability to remain forgiving and steady despite lower spin rates. There is a slight tradeoff in forgiveness but you don’t have to be handicapped to enjoy the G425LST. Even though I was hitting shots from the heel, my distance was quite respectable and it didn’t just fly off of the planet. Similar to its predecessor the G425 LST boasts a remarkable forgiveness-to-looks ratio.

G425LST offers the same level of adjustability as G425Max. Loft can also be adjusted upwards or downwards by up to 1.5°. It’s important to not overlook the “Flat”, as it is a great position for anyone who pulls their tee shots. Also, there is a weight on the back, with 3 positions: Draw, Neutral and Fade. LST has a lighter weight than Max at 17g vs.26g, however I still felt the difference to be substantial.

PING’s G425 Max also features a wide range of stock shafts. The three models that PING Tour offers are the Alta Distanza and ALTA CB 55 slate. PING also has Aldila Rogue White130 MSI and Mitsubishi TENSEI-AV Orange for those players looking to have a hot shaft.

Adjustability

While I have already covered a lot of the model adjustability, I would like to highlight the hosel adjustment that Ping calls “Trajectory Tuning 2.0”.

It is possible to change the height of the head, as with all major manufacturers. Simply remove the head from the socket and place it in a new position on the hosel. With ping, you can move the height of your head up or down by as much as 1.5 degrees.

Ping is very unique in that you can choose from neutral, +1, or -1 loft. This feature is great for both short and long golfers.

It’s almost, because of the Sure. Titleist offers flat- and even upright fitting hosel adjustments. These settings can be adjusted to automatically alter the loft, face angle, or both.

Golf Insider Verdict – Ping G425 driver review I could go on for some time about how good the new range Ping G425 Drivers in this review. Actually, it’s quite easy to say that the verdict. Here you have a driver with exceptional performance, fitting options for every golfer at a price that represents excellent value in the market.

Ping G425 Max provides exceptional forgiveness and distance. SFT drivers can be very helpful for players who are struggling to get a fair slice.

The Ping G425 drivers are a great option for upgrading your computer.

The CG shifter is by far the best piece of tech. This massive, moveable tungsten weight – placed at the extreme rear of the sole of the club – results in an equally extreme low and back CG (centre of gravity) placement.
