Today we will review the Ping G410 Plus. This is not your average review. We’re not going to talk about all the, does it feel good, does it look good, my personal opinion on it.

This is where we get to the heart of the matter. We will discuss the technology behind this driver that has made it the best technologically-advanced on the market.

You’re not going to find a driver that’s any hotter, any more forgiving, any better than this driver. We’re going to talk about the real science that goes into that, that makes that the case.

So, let’s die right into it. What I did is I interviewed some of the engineers from Ping, and full disclosure, I’m Brand Ambassador for Ping, so I am biased. I really like these clubs.

Bubba Watson from PING is already taking advantage of this driver for the G410. He has seen a significant improvement in accuracy since getting it into his bag. The G410 Plus driver was at the Golf. Magic HQ, it was definitely a driver that had us talking as we’d heard a lot of good things about this big stick.

The G410 Plus features a 16g weight of tungsten in its back. This is the first PING driver. Slide the weight from draw to fade, and you will be able to alter your shot shape for up ten yards. The best thing about PING drivers is their forgiveness. Therefore, the brand decided to make it adjustable. To keep the MOI high, the weight was placed at the back of the clubhead. Drivers

Although it might not be the first Ping driver to have moveable weights, the G410 Plus looks as though they’ve been in the forefront of the market since the beginning.

Because it’s easy to adjust the weights without changing other models, this weighting system can be very smart. This could have a negative side effect, however, because it is too simple to alter the bias.

The G410 Plus offers a lot more flexibility than the downsides. It offers tour players the flexibility to choose the set-up they prefer and the ability to customize the G410 Plus so that you get exactly what you need from your driver.

What is the cost of the Ping G410 Plus driver?

Prices for G410 drivers vary by retailer, but start from approximately PS359/$443.

Ping is known for its quality and high performance. However, Ping also emphasizes engineering and forgiveness. My fitting revealed that the recommended shaft was longer than my old driver. It also took me several swings just to adjust to the distance between the ball and my feet. Once I had my distance down you can feel the power and forgiveness this club offers.

You can feel the tramponline effect when the ball hits this club in its center. The ball actually comes off the club. But it wasn’t the perfectly struck balls that was impressive, rather the “mishits,” which were what really sold me to join this club. Even when I missed a lot of balls, my dispersion was good and had lots of carry.

When I started hitting this club using a golf launch monitor , it was evident that my sidespin was much lower than my original driver. The more side spin you have on the ball, the more exaggerated the miss. This club is a great way to make sure you don’t miss your shot. But, it will still put you in the fairway. More importantly, the misses can keep you out of the woods and the penalty areas. Not saying this will eliminate those issues from your game, but I did notice an improvement in my driving accuracy in the weeks that followed my purchase.

Ping G410 Plus men’s drivers have been my greatest asset. With this driver, I’ve eliminated the risk of hitting the wrong side of the fairway. My misses in the past were on the left and right sides of the golf course. I was able to hit the ball anywhere starting from the tee. My driver helped me to lower the weight until it reached the Fade position. I feel confident that I can hit the ball down or draw the ball. It took a little bit of time to get used to, but being confident with a driver in your hand is powerful, and it will really help you lower your scores. This setup may seem backwards to you, but it really has worked for my game.

It appears to perform well in comparison with the rest of the field. The ideal sliding weight would increase shot bias, but not have an impact on forgiveness.

I am a G410+. The original shaft, which I was certified for, I found it to be less efficient than the G400 LST. The issue was also mentioned in the Most Wanted Testing. Both my misses went in the same direction. Although I had a G400 adapter that was Ping upgraded, it wasn’t able to pull the shaft. It didn’t work well with the G410. My fitter was about to take me on a trip when I heard I had been selected for the Motore Test. That one is worth checking out. I was one of those guys who found the shaft to be very useful.

Another question was asked about G410 fairway woodens. A test is available in the official section. It was a privilege to participate in this one last year. In nutshell, we were fitted with a Ping representative for the driver that would fill in the space between our longest irons and Driver. That gap had 3 wood, 5 hybrid, and 4 hybrid. He got them out and replaced them with 9wood, 7wood and 5wood. I like both the 7 and 7 wood. The 5 wood is my favourite. There’s nothing wrong with the 9 wood, I hit it well, but it’s not an effective club into the wind – I tend to launch it too high and it balloons, I loose that gap between 6 iron and 7 wood and those occasions.
