Ping G400 Max Review

I Can Hit My Driver!

Taylormade R1 drivers were my old driver. I couldn’t get it working to save me. I wanted a new driver to see if the issue was me or the equipment, knowing in the back of my head 90% of it was likely me. Although I didn’t trust the reviews on this site, I assumed they were either paid by Ping and written by Ping employees. It’s so disappointing. My Ping G400 max took me out to the track today. I even used my driver! Better yet, I was in play! Even in the fairway a few times. UNBELIEVABLE DEFENCE. This has changed the way I play. This makes it more enjoyable. It is a great club. You can actually use the driver from the tee. Ping, I appreciate your kindness!

Yes.

It is my recommendation.

Ping G400 Max Review

How Does The G400 Max Driver Match Up With Recent Ping Offerings Like The G400 And The Ping G?

Well, for starters the higher your handicap and the less consistent your swing, the bigger the club-head should be on the driver in your bag.

If you struggle to find the center and center of your fairway, the G400 Max could be a great upgrade.

Ping always releases new models that are just a little better than those before.

Our full Ping G400 driver review is available if you’re looking for an older model that doesn’t require game improvement. If you’re interested in a discount on an older model of Ping G, we recommend our Ping G driver review.

Ping G400 Max Review

Comparing the G400 Max Driver to other drivers on the market, how does it compare?

It will quickly earn its position right at the top of the line with the Callaway Epic or Callaway Rogue offerings.

Taylor. Taylor. A similar club includes the Mizuno ST180Driver.

The G400 Max was created for middle-to-high handicappers. It won’t surprise if it finds its way to the hands of better players who want speed and feel that they can get a little further on the green.

Forgiveness and distance are a beautiful combination.

The bottom line: From its deeper profile and aerodynamic head to the larger turbulators which are optimized to decrease aerodynamic drag, Ping G400 Max Driver is determined to improve the game of golf.

A 460cc head must look attractive to all golfers.

Ping has delivered in this regard again.

Performance during the course

Club Speed Ball Speed Angle Spin Carry (Yds). Total

This is where the PING G400 Max Max Review’s strongest section. It is simply the best driver I have ever seen. It was very easy to miss the centre of the face. Misses to either the right or the left did not lose much yardage. I find my biggest mishap to be a block-fade in the right which often finds the nearest fairway. I noticed that the G400 Max makes that miss a straight block to my right and that my ball frequently found a playable location.

G400 Max, which is the most powerful option in the G400 range, should be used for the majority. You can optimize this driver’s performance with the correct shaft. To limit my spin and launch as a high-ball hitter I chose the G400 Max with a low/mid launched, low spinning shaft. Although I was expecting to lose some distance for the G400 Max’s forgiveness, I found that I gained quite a bit more consistent carry yardage. I felt that this resulted in more total range and, perhaps more importantly, more fairways. It’s possible to imagine that.

Gear

Ping Ping Ping g400 max driver review Ping Ping g400 drivers review Ping Ping made the first appearance of its G400 driver out on Tour in last year’s U.S. Open.

The incredibly quick adoption rate for this driver, especially mid-season, made complete sense to me when I first got my hands on the G400.

With the incredible forgiveness and a noticeable increase in speed compared to G drivers, I could have happily stuffed it into my bag. The G400 Max is almost the exact same.

Simply stated, the G400 has MOI steroids. However, while the G400 boasted a record-breaking combined MOI just over 9,000g cm2, the Max has increased this number to over 9,900cm2. This means forgiveness is like nothing you have ever seen, for all golfers, including myself.

In order to increase forgiveness, the head is now larger at 445cc. It’s combined with Dragonfly crown and thin-forged faces to enable maximum weight saving.

Finally, high-density tungsten’s back weight was relocated to the very edge of the sole. This helps to propel the CG as low back and forward as possible to provide incredible forgiveness.

G400 Max doesn’t just offer more forgiveness. With the T9S+’s unique heat-treatment process, the impact area is smaller and more hot, which allows for increased ball speed.

Ping G400 Max Driver Reviews

For PING the past year was a positive one. They have found their groove, even when it comes down to driver training. The initial G400 release (G400, LST, SFT) presented a unified front of an extremely high total MOI driver with the tech, looks, and performance to create some noise, and it has. Later, they announced the addition of a larger, more forgiving G400 driver to market. It caused some controversy, both positively and negatively.

The G400 Max: How do they compare? Is it an addition to the already impressive lineup PING created? THP was eager to answer both questions when the G400 Max arrived for review.

Technical Information from PING for the G400 Max Motor Driver:

Larger profile – Dragonfly Technology is used to cut the crown of the 460cc head and place the CG at low levels for maximum MOI. It has a beautiful address view thanks to its textured crown with infinity edge.

Satisfying Sound: Research, computer simulation and music theory led to the invention of a rib structure by PING engineers that produces a deepening sound but also enhances feel.

MOI Max – The forged faces are kept thin, which allows them to carry more weight. With this combination, you can have a significant amount of tungsten weighting combined with a lower-density weight back to get a combined MOI more than 9,900. You also achieve the greatest CG possible.

Forged for Flex – This T9S+ forged, thin face allows more ball speed to be generated by consistent straight drives. The face has been textured for increased friction to reduce spin. A new face pattern creates a captured appearance with the ball.
