They seem excited: Overexcited from watching TV, roughhousing etc. They may also be binging on sugary drinks, sweet snacks or artificial colors or flavors. They might have consumed cold medicine, soda or iced tea or chocolate, as well as artificial caffeine. Something is bothering them: Bright lights, loud sounds, or discomfort could all be the culprit. They are curious and determined: Their desire to be able to observe the activities of others makes them want to stay in their own room. They’re hooked on your help : They haven’t yet learned how to fall asleep without you rocking, feeding and holding them. Fearful stages are what they’re experiencing: Their fear is causing them to be afraid of being on their own and to deal with the smorgasbord that includes everything from dogs to thunder to strangers. They are not getting to sleep on time. There are many things you can do that will help with toddler sleep issues and tantrums. And one of the best ways is to work on bedtime skills all day long .
Get a snack
Children grow faster than adults, and this can lead to them becoming more hungry. A small snack can be a great way to encourage your child to sleep in.
Try something like a small slice of unprocessed meat, toast, or a glass of warm milk the key is that it’s slightly filling and calming. Avoid giving them foods that make them excited. I found that a banana did wonders for my child.
A good time for a before-bed snack is prior to brushing their teeth . It’s okay to let them have it if their room allows.

Your little one may not need a rest, so it is best to get to sleep early. Most toddlers need 12 to 14 hours of sleeping each night. So, if they skip naps, ensure they get all the required hours during the night.
A parent may complain to me that their child or toddler doesn’t sleep. The parent tried many different calming techniques, but the result was never achieved. For these cases, I would recommend scheduling some “downtime”, which involves turning down the lights for an hour and creating a less stressful environment. It will allow their toddler to get some down time.

7. Talk to your toddler about the flight.
This has been, and continues to be, one of the best ways to get kids to sleep on a plane for us. It was a habit we started when our toddler turned 2 years. The first week of the flight was when we started talking about it. It would involve describing the plane, explaining the seat belt light and going through the plan for the flight.
