Roborock S7 was my top choice for cleaning tools. Although I have used regular robot vacuums before, this Roborock S7 is my favorite. It has the best mopping capabilities and “eyes”, which can learn the layout of my home in two seconds. No, really! No, not really! The robot moved around my home the first two times it used it. It took notes of where the carpets were as it cleaned them and mapped each room. After two passes it used its eyes to find and avoid obstacles.
The suction. With three cats and a dog, there are a lot pet hairs and leftover food kibbles. Even after not using the vacuum for several days, the S7’s hyperforce(tm) suction does a great job of getting everything. It has a rubber brush that doesn’t get tangled, although I do sometimes have to remove it (it easily pops out) to clean out some of this thicker hair that gathers behind the brush.
A mop, which is basically a pad of cloth attached to the vacuum, uses high vibrations to scrub the floors (up to 3000 times per minute). A large water tank is located in the bottom of my vacuum. I make sure to fill it every two weeks. Roborock suggests not using water in the canister, however I like to cheat and use Lysol as a cleaner to give my floors a lemony scent. (Be careful because the mop does not have a rinse cycle. Your floors might end up sooty). After each wash cycle is complete, I take out the mop pad from the canister and wash it with Dawn or Tide detergent. While it can be put in the washing-machine, I find that hand washing makes it easier.
My two area rugs are dry and never wet. VibraRise’s technology in the S7 automatically raises the mop when the robot sees carpets ahead. Once the robot finishes vacuuming the rug, it will lower the mop.
