In truth, it is tempting to buy a couple of adorable $20 gloves at Costco and your local sporting goods retailer in fall. Trust me. I know what it feels like to be there. And I still have the unused gloves. Thank goodness, 14 years worth of raising children taught me the lesson I needed and now I don’t purchase cheap gloves.

Instead of $20 for gloves, which seemed great in the fall but cost me $40. Also, they were only good for one season. Imagine if you could get gloves that last YEARS for the same price. (PS, these are the amazing mittens I was talking about) The truth of the matter is that if your kid has cold or wet hands, they’ll be miserable, so cheap gloves just aren’t worth it – I promise!

On the flip side, they’re the same pair that I’ve worn every year since college. I can recall spending $60 on them, blowing my budget, and now, 15 years later, my favourite pair is still waterproof and warm.

So why in the world was I blowing $40 a year on crappy gloves for my kids when if I spent that amount upfront, I could get great gloves that would last year after year?
