In my search for the most affordable toddler kitchen sets I tried to find a wide range of styles and materials. Although, my natural preference for more neutral colours is true. And, since I know that many of us are dealing with smaller spaces, I’ve tried to include play kitchens that are slightly smaller in scale too.

The simple, clean lines of this toddler kitchen set are my favourite. The set comes at less than $120 so it will fit in with any décor style. Even better, it has a removable sink so that the little ones can clean up after themselves.
Retro-style playkitches are great if you like bright colors but don’t want to be too loud. This dollhouse is made from sturdy wood and has lasted through a lot more toddler abuse over the years. And at less than $70, it’s a great price!

We were able to set it up in about fifteen minutes from the box. It’s sturdy and solid once you have it assembled. Also, the kitchen is only 22in wide (28in high) and 13in deep (28in high). This makes it an ideal playkit for small apartments and parents who like to keep it simple. Hape produces a matching set of toy kitchen utensils that comes with the kitchen. There are about a dozen pieces, including a pan, pan, utensils (salt/pepper shakers), plates and pot. Each piece is made from high-quality, sturdy wood. They fit neatly into the storage areas in the kitchen. The plates hang above the stove, while the utensils fit inside a slot. And the oven and cabinet can easily fit the pan and saucepan. You must now be wondering, as we did when we first opened the boxes: Is it worth it? Grand Walkin Kitchens are great for families who have large spaces and can host multiple kids. It is our most expensive play kitchen, at $300. This includes everything your little one could need: an oven and stovetop, refrigerator, freezer, microwave and stovetop. Also, tons of shelves, drawers and cabinets. It ended up taking us 2 days (about 2-3 hours per day) to put this together, and once we did we came to the realization that this might actually be nicer than our real kitchen! It was perfect and it looked amazing. Rotating the knobs makes them click, and we love that they have hooks for pot holders, cooking utensils and hanging pot holders. Also, there aren’t any noisy, prone-to-break electric parts. Everything came together well, with no pieces missing. The room is difficult to navigate once the assembly has been completed.
The kitchen is a great place to have fun. We know our children had lots of fun. There are two areas that can accommodate 2 children: one in the foyer, the second at the breakfast area and the third on the side. No other kitchen has the ability to accommodate as many children simultaneously, so this is a good option for sharing social time and facilitating cooperation with siblings. It is recommended for children between 2 and 5 years of age. Separate purchases will be required to get a play food and utensil set. Cons?
